About Rising Sun Energy

Started in 2014 by first generation entrepreneur, Mr. Arunav Sharma, Rising Sun Energy is a fast-growing independent power producer, generating reliable and affordable energy from renewable power sources. Since its incorporation the company has steadily built a strong presence in the renewable energy sector in India. In the initial years the company had tied-up with two highly reputed Singapore based groups, Charisma Energy and Sunseap, to set-up renewable energy projects in India. Simultaneously, Mr. Arunav built an experienced and proficient team to take care of various aspects of project development. With the backing of the investors and the support of the team, the company grew from a one employee company to a developer and operator of a 175 MWp  solar power asset valued over USD 200 million in a span of around three years.

In 2020, in order to fuel the long-term growth of the group, the company partnered with a strategic investor in the form of Yinson Group, a USD 1.6 billion market cap corporate listed on the Malaysian Stock Exchange. Within 3 months of the acquisition by Yinson, the group was awarded a bid for developing a 285 MWp solar power project in the Nokh Solar Park, Rajasthan with NTPC being the procurer for the project power.
With the above two projects, the RSE group currently has a portfolio of approximately 460 MWp and is actively looking to add more high-quality projects to its portfolio with an aim to deliver sustainable solutions for the energy sector in the coming years.
